One new year more and one more year begun on the new century—It is well that we ask ourselves what this year has for us in the way of opportunities, rather those to do good and leave for the coming years to remember with pleasure than mere passing pleasure which depends for its charm upon the waste of that which has been given for perhaps better purposes—For the coming year I mean to (pledge) all that I may call my own not to be used for myself only but as duty orders—Today performed a most disagreeable task dehorning cattle.
