A fine day but rather windy for pleasure.

I helped E. Dudley thresh today.

Grain is in a bad condition as one might infer from the amount of rain we have had on the straw in its ragged state.

Last night brot a very heavy frost which leaves the corn leaves looking rather pale.

A very severe frost for so early.

This is Fanny’s birthday, 27 years old.

(Pictured are Sister Fanny (Frances) and husband Henry Stephenson, who is mentioned so often.)

Ernest and family were over today to gather hazelnuts.

We finished haying on Henry’s.

A fair day and quite cool.

This afternoon we were stacking hay, which I cut yesterday on Henry’s.

It seems now as if we might have frost tonight.

Last night I took two of the bee boxes; the crop of honey is light.

This morning we straightened up the lambs and went to plowing brush again.

We also spent Sat 6th at the brush.

Sun. 7 we drove down to S.G. Gamble’s and enjoyed a good visit.

Has been a very disagreeable day, it having rained most of the day, tho showers were light & it cleared before sunset, so we may hope for a nice day to conclude the week.

Have been rooting the brush again.

This P.M. Harve & I began plowing brush on the North side.

Last night I started to call the roll of the various station(s) on the telephone line.

The weather is fine and the fields are drying nicely.

In the evening, (Sister) Fannie went to Scranton to bring Ma out, she having returned from Glenwood.

Yesterday Labor Day fair.

This morning I took Ma to the train to go to Glenwood.

The day has been a most lovely one; not a bad day to tramp (in the woods).

This morning rain falling from 3 until 7 o’clock had everything a’soak.

We, Ma and I, wrote a letter to Myrtle.

I cleaned the batteries on the ‘phone.

Did a little grubbing (clearing of brush and tree roots) and patched up the meadow this P.M.

I planed down the front door and hitched up the team, hauled the brush from the meadow and other chores.

It is raining heavily 10 P.M.
